One
of the hardest plants to grow unless you opt for the new "carefree"
roses. If you like to spend all your time spraying, pruning and
fertilizing go ahead and plant all you want. You'll still have to
watch those deer. The Japanese beetles love roses too.
Rose
Bonica
Grows about 3ft. and blooms almost continually from Spring to fall.
They are still flowering when hit with frost. This has been
our best rose variety.
Rosa
Rugosa Dwarf Pavement Rose
These are a
dwarf variety of the very hardy rugosa rose. They come in pink,
white and shades of red. Grow lower but still spread. I have noticed
shoots coming up in the lawn near the main bush. They have beautiful,
shiny green leaves and flower through the summer.
