Boxwood:
Evergreen shrub, useful as hedge, edging, foundation plantings,
formal gardens. Can be trimmed to any shape imaginable. Not all
boxwood is hardy in this area but a few have been bred to withstand
our cold winters. Some people don't care for the fragrance of
boxwood but I've only noticed a smell a certain time of the year,
not year round.
An
unnamed variety of boxwood we purchased years ago has become our
favorite for hardiness in our area. We have never had any winter
injury with this plant.
Grows to a 3' ball shaped shrub.
Boxwood "Newport
Blue"
Bluish
green leaves. Grows to a 4' shrub. This one gave us a little
trouble when it was young. Had a little winter burn each spring
but did grow out of that and turned out to be a really nice boxwood.
